I've heard good things about Krylon's plastic paint.
I've used the same thing only I cleaned the plastic real good with dish soap and used adhesive promoter before I sprayed the color. 5 years later still like the day I sprayed it. Used it on my dash and my steering column. Was worried about key scratches but seems to hold up
This is how I do it and the only thing I'll add is I use a gray scuffle with the soap when cleaning it as a fine abrasive. Your goals to remove all dirts, oils, and silicon from the surface, the adhesion promoter I suspect melts the plastic slightly in order for the new paint to really bond with it.The key to it is the preparation.
