700R4 Fluid Recommendation and Opinions

According to GM Dexron VI is supposed to be compatible with transmissions serviced with Dexron III? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'm currently running Valvoline Dex/Merc in mine. I put in a remanufactured 700R4 a few months ago, just want to do what's best for it.
What do some of you guys use/recommend?
Looking for opinions, thanks!

Although I've been running the BG synthetic and it's great too so if you've got a buddy that's a mechanic, have him hook you up.
