I have a 87 Chevy 4x4 and it pops out of 4x4 I have to hold the shifter to keep it I 4x4. I adjusted the nuts on the lineage from under the cab should I adjust more or is it an internal adjustment Thanks

we have to know more about your truck. like what trans and transfer case it has. if its original it should be a 700r4, th400 or sm465 and transfer case could be a 205 or 208

Still have the problem. Does it sounds like an internal problem? I did tighten up the linkage but it didn't fix the slipping, thanks.

First thing to do is check the mounts, crossmember and linkage. After that check the linkage adjustment. If it's still popping out, replace the unit. You can pick up a 208 dirt cheap still which is less than a rebuild.

I check and everything is fine. Are 208s the same for v10, v20 and v30 in the same year. Spline count the same. Thanks

the 208s are really going to depend on what trans theyre behind. 700r4 will have a 27 spline input shaft while a th400 will have a 32 as well as a sm465
