Steering Wheel Close
« on: April 27, 2018, 12:13:29 pm »
I have seen 1 thread that is 11years old regarding the closeness of the steering wheel to ones chest.

Does anyone  else find the steering wheel in a standard cab C10 to be closer than one would like??
I don't see how anyone could drive the critter if they needed to move the seat up..........

Tilt wheel helps.  Smaller diameter wheel helps as well.  Depending on the year/style seat there are also additional options that also give you more room.  I do see the concern

on my first truck (86) i did notice it was close but i could deal with it. i did end up putting a smaller wheel in its place and you will notice a drastic change. on my 91 crew cab it still has the regular wheel but i dont know if its cause i can move the seat back all the way

It's the fat gauge. If it's too close it's time to go on a diet  ;D

You can also purchase an aftermarket column, change wheel, different seats, wear platform shoes

Maybe true on the first statement.
As for the second, I have shrunk to 6'4" over the years.
Reaching the pedals is no problem.
The bench seat is all the way back..................
