Wondering if anyone has purchased one of these gauges, from where, and what results have been experienced?

Now I have found what is suppose to be a NOS gauge. Not sure if I should get the aftermarket new one or take a chance on the NOS gauge. Hard to imagine there are still NOS around. Just not sure which one to get.
Suggestions welcome.

There are plenty of them out there, new aftermarket and used. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of them. It's a 5 minute job to swap one out.

I have tried 2 other used with no luck. My current gauge will drop from 12 o'clock position while driving to 10 o'clock and will jump back up. That is the reason think I need new one. So, trying to decide new aftermarket or the NOS I have found.

Sounds more like a connection problem. Have all of the gauges reacted similarly?

No, all other gauges work correct. I can bump on cluster near gauge and it will move either up or down. Sometimes needle goes to 12 o'clock, sometimes stays at 10 o'clock position. Have replaced sending unit 2 times, still moves. This has been happening almost 3 years since I purchased it. Just tired of not having a consistent temp gauge.

Burnish the connections between the gauge pins, clips and PC board. Slightly tension the clips and reinstall them with a light smear of antioxidant paste. Repeat the process with the IP harness plug at the back of the cluster. Be careful not to peel the copper foil away from the PC board.

I will try that to see if it changes gauge readings.
