Intermittant Electrical Loss

Sometimes I have electric and sometimes I don't.  This can very easily be noticed by just looking at the dome light.  With a fully charged, and tested, good battery.  I can sometimes start the truck as normal, and sometimes I have nothing.  I've noticed when I first was thinking it was possibly the battery, while I would have jumpers on, in between trips in to try and start it, if the dome light came on, I would be able to attempt to crank it over, and then during the same jump session, sometimes I would open the door, and no dome light, where then that would be followed by nothing at the ignition.

Where should I start looking?
The leads from the batt. to the starter?
--- I imagine the starter is probably not the issue, as elec. would still pass to the dome light no matter what, right?

check and clean the battery cable connections on both ends.

In addition, inspect the battery cables for uniform flexibility and sheath diameter.  An internally corroded cable often is rigid and/or swollen in the area of corrosion damage.

C Wilson Jr---sounds like problem I had. Ck topic on page 2 called "starting issues "from me.
With help from B D and others, my problem got solved. It was fusible link. Great smart folks

ok, so i checked the connections at the battery and theyre all good; actually no corrosion whatsoever, and both are tight.

i have not checked any connections underneath at the starter yet.

NOW, what im noticing, is even when the dome light is on, with battery charged, AND while even still on charger, is when i go to crank it over, all i get is either a click, or just a slight turnover (like if your batt. was dead), AND now the dome light goes off and stays off after a crank attempt.  so strange.

You need to check at both ends and check your fusible links

where are the fusible links, and how do i tell if theyre bad?
