Can someone show me a diagram or explain how to adjust the tv cable on a 1990 Sub. 700R4 tranny?  I know there is an adjustment tab on the cable but can't get to it because of the throttle bracket. Help!

The TV cable can be adjusted by reaching over the bracket and pushing in the tab. While holding in the tab slide the plunger rearward (toward the firewall) Depress the throttle inside the vehicle to the floor (engine off of course). There is your preliminary adjustment. Toward the firewall will tighten the cable - delaying upshifts and forcing earlier downshifts and loosening the cable does just the opposite.

OEM SPECS
Stop engine.

Depress and hold down readjust tab, move slider through fitting, away from lever assembly, until slider stops against fitting.
Release readjust tab, then open throttle lever to its full throttle position to automatically adjust cable.
Release throttle lever and check cable for sticking or binding. The cable may appear to function properly with engine stopped and cold. Recheck cable with engine at normal operating temperature.
Road test vehicle.
