1981-1982 Blue Bowtie on Squarebody grille

Hello everybody! I recently bought a 1981-1982 grille for my 84' on Facebook marketplace. The neat thing about it was the blue bowtie. I didn't think much of it, and then tried to find a picture online of an 81-82 grille with a blue bowtie, and came up short of finding anything. I asked the owner about it and he said it was on his dads truck from the factory. Just looking for an answer here, is it a factory option or dealership option? Thanks!

Someone swapped it in there, not factory or an option.

Exactly what I thought, thats why I asked the guy. He swears that his dad bought the truck brand new with the blue bowtie. Must be aftermarket.

71-72 used a blue bow tie, so it may have been swapped out.

Another thought I had, but the 71-72 trucks’ bowties looked a bit different, and were curved more.

Definitely an aftermarket emblem. My dad had the 72' and judging by what I know and what I have seen with my neighbor who has a 72', this is way too thin and not as much depth as the original blue bowtie.
