Traditional body side molding on matte paint?
« on: August 26, 2021, 03:58:05 pm »
Hey guys. Does anyone know if the pre cut 3M side moldings will have a problem sticking to matte paint? This paint job is fairly textured as well. I’d hate to spend $150 and have it not stick. Thanks!

You should fix the paint before you put the trim on.

The paint isn’t faulty. It’s just a heavy black matte. Zero gloss. I just wanted to know if anyone has a flat/matte paint job that used these body moldings and if they stuck.

Well, matte vs gloss isn't really an issue. The "fairly textured" part is what I am referring to. You can purchase adhesive if it doesn't hold up well.
