Help with Engine
« on: January 29, 2007, 09:47:00 am »
Hello,

I have a 1986 Chevy C-10 truck my son and I are redoing as a daily driver.  It originally had a v6 but I bought it with a 350 in it.  I have had great help from the folks in the Body forum but now I need your help.  Could you tell me what this is:

Here is what I am trying to do.  I am getting rid of the electronic spark control and going with a HEI distributor with vacuum advance.  But since the ESC controlled the distributor advance I don't know where to hook the vacuum line for the new distributor to the carburetor (it is the original M4MED rochester carb 4bl).  I am assuming it has somethig to do with the picture.  Can someone help?

Thanking you in advance.

Jeff

Quick answer, find a ported vacuum source on the carb and hook it up there.

Thanks Chris, that answered my question.  Can you tell me what the device on the firewall is?  It has a vacuum line attached on the right side that connects to the carburetor.

Thanks again.
