83 Turn signal/cruise switch
« on: December 14, 2022, 10:08:21 AM »
Need some help coming up with a part number for the cruise control switch for an 83.   My research tells me it's a one year only part because they added the wiper control to the switch in 84.   82 and older were not the Custom Cruise III that was introduced in 83, which added the accelerate function.
I'd rather not have to buy/ship a complete column to get the one part needed.   I know that even with a part number I'd probably have better luck finding a unicorn, but at least it's something to start with.

Thanks for the reply, but that isn't for the Custom Cruise III system, which added the Accelerate function, which was introduced on the 83 trucks.   The one in the link just has resume and is only a 3 wire harness and is for the Cruise Master system.  The 83 has a 4 wire harness and a different plug.
The only picture I can find of it is below (first one of two in attachment).   if looks almost identical to the one the previous reply suggested, but if you look closely, it has a R/A (resume/accelerate) option, instead of only Resume.

The second link says it will not work with OEM systems.

Also, I previously purchased the one linked above that I would sell to a member in need for $75 + shipping.  It is NOS in the original plastic, GM #25030993.   Fits an 81-82 truck, and maybe some other GM vehicles of that vintage.

The GM original P/N is 25031710.  It became unavailable from the OEM PDCs somewhere between 2003 - 2007.  If you search that GM (aka, ACDelco) part number you may still enjoy some hits for around $100.

Thank You!  I've spent way too much time trying to find the part number.   I grabbed that one off Ebay, $75 isn't too bad!
