Will removing a rear Leaf help ?
« on: August 12, 2024, 01:33:48 pm »
Hello

I've installed a lowering shackle/hanger set for my '85 C15, yet I didn't notice that much difference !!

Compared to other C10; Mine has six leaves instead of five !!!
Could it be that extra thick leaf, shown in pic ?!. Should I remove one more to gain the needed drop ?! ( looking for 4" drop in rear )

Your input is appreciated.

Yes, more pics pls.

Sounds like your truck came with the optional 'camper kit' rear suspension. My K10 listed it as an option. 6 leaf springs, removed #2 and 3 from the bottom up. Much smoother ride, my wife even noticed.

Bilsteins didn't hurt either.

Properly it did come with an extra "thicker" leaf. I removed it and the last one "smallest". I looks fine now & I think I may need to align the bed, or take a second look on the bushings. Thanks for the tip

I don't get why you want the rear to sit lower than it is?
