Throw-out bearing squeeking

I just put a brand new clutch pack in my 1976 Chevy K20. The problem is, when the clutch pedal is out all the way, the throw-out bearing is not backed off far enough from the pressure plate, causing a small squeeking noise. I have a spring on the clutch fork pulling it out more but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Does it go away when you depress the clutch pedal? Did you grease the pivot on the clutch fork before you installed it?

when it does squeek, which isn't all the time, it still squeeks when i press in the pedal, it goes away shortly, and it isn't very loud. i sure hope its not my throwout bearing cause it was pain in the arse to lift that tranny and tcase up. i did grease the clutch fork, i've noticed that my clutch pedal doesn't come completley up, i can pull it all the way up, and when i do, it doesn't squeek. in stock setups is there a spring connected to the clutch fork and frame to pull the throwout bearing away? thats the setup i currently have to try and keep it from squeeking. I might try a heavier spring to pull it further.

Did you grease the inner collar of the release bearing too?There is a recessed area on the collar that needs to be packed with grease also. If it doesn't go away when you depress the clutch it may need to come back out.
