how much would you charge for...

the part of the a/c that bolts to the firewall. i think it's called the condenser? i mean everything that's right there. i was looking in   and the evaporator core alone is $170.

what do you guys think would be a fair price?

The condensor is attached to the front of your radiator





You probably mean the orifice, drier, and evaporator

orifice tube about $5
Drier,accumulator $35
evaportator ??  not sure, i'd guess about $45

well my friend wanted the one off mine, so i was looking for a price to charge him. i'll probably just junk it anyways, so i figured why not make some money off it

For a used evaporator? Tell him to buy you a case of beer.

Man, If i were that guy, i would not put a used evaporator in.  That is too much labor to go and replace in a year or two.  He might as well get a new one. Besides, unless he cleans that joker out very, very well, there will be debris inside it and the refrigerant will not work as well, the ac will not be as cool as with a new evaporator.  I'd never put a used one in.  I do hope he puts atleast a brand new dryer on it--you cant expose those to humidy of any kind or they are wasted. That is why, when new, those things are seal up with plastic screw plugs, to keep the humidy out of it.  I once tried to buy one at Autozone and someone had opened the box and the plastic screw seals had been removed, i told that guy , "no way".  Of course, he didnt know what i was talking about keeping humidity out.

You are definitely right about the Accumulator being exposed to the atmosphere. The dessicant bag will become saturated and then it's worthless. I once received one from the autopart store that had been opened and sent it back too.
