73C20...What's It Worth?

Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've posted on here, or worked on my project either, which is the reason for this post. Many of you probably saw it at one point on this very website. It was actually the first 73-87ChevyTrucks.com project truck before I sold the website to Chris (roundedline).
My project for the last eight years has been a 73 C20 Custom Deluxe. It has 42,000 original miles on the truck and original 350/350 combo. The engine has been upgraded with HEI, Edelbrock intake and carb, lots of billet, etc. The frame has been stripped and repainted. The body has all new metal except the cab and hood (repop metal). The only things the truck needs are the standard cab repairs (corners, floors, rockers), paint, interior, and a few odds and ends. So, I'm just curious what a fair price on this project might be? I know that I have put a few thousand in parts, tons of hours in time, and it has a sentimental connection because it was my grandfather's truck, and it helped launch this website, so I guess it's a piece of history! I don't have any current pictures, but will post ASAP. Thanks for any input.

Say it ain't so Matt. I don't remember what it looks like though, so if you can post some pics that would help.

It is so Chris. New baby, building new house, new job, finished my degree=no time, money, or desire to finish the truck. I'll get some pics this weekend.

Chris,
She is already 7 months old! We have not talked in a long time! Congratulations on your little one. You better get that house back in order. You won't have much free time the first few months.

Not painted right? That will hurt you. Without seeing what needs repair, it is hard to judge, but from the pic, I would say $3600 would be high. If you have reciepts on what is on there, it may help some though.
How bad are the repairs that are needed?

What needs done

It does not really need much. The cab corners, rockers, and cab floors need replaced. It is in primer, so paint is also needed. Interior needs finished. The engine and transmission are fine. The truck is straight and is a solid base for a project. Keep the thoughts coming.

After reading what it needs done I think 3600 is aiming pretty high. It depends where you live but around here (WA) you would be lucky to get 1500 for a truck that needs that much work.

i have a '73 c20 which originally had the 454/400 combo but the previous owners pulled out the 454 because it had problems and threw in a 350 as well as a newer master cylinder. the body is fairly straight and the only major rust is around the wheel wells and some surface rust on the passenger door...the rocker panels are in excellent shape. i bought the truck for $800 and painted the white stripes as well as the grille and bumpers white, added a tachometer on the dash, and a cheap floorshifter. also a new alternator and battery. of course i dont know how to post a pic....

Thanks for the feedback. I currently have it listed on Craigslist, and this Friday it will go in a statewide publication that I have always had good luck selling in. Hopefully I'll be able to sell it quickly for a fair price. BTW, I listed higher than what was suggested so there is room to work. At this point it is a project that I will never finish, so it might as well go to someone who will finish the truck. I have included another picture so that you can get a little better idea of the work that needs done, especially to the cab corners.

I went ahead and posted it on eBay today. I'll see what kind of response I get. For more pictures of the truck check out the auction. Matt
