Fuel Switch Wires?
«

Can anyone let me know what wires go where on the back of the fuel tank switch? Have four wires ( Black w/wht, Gray, Tan, Tan w/wht ). If you pull the ash tray out i think you can see the connecter. A quick roadside repair left the old switch and connecter along the roadside somewhere. Any help would be great, Thanks

Go figure I have a odd ball truck! Right now I have the Gray and Tan w/wht stripe together and it uses fuel out of the right side tank and the gauge works. I have tried other combinations with mixed results... Won't start, blows fuse, gauge past full mark, ETC. Next time I won't be so quick to toss the connecter!

I have a pic of the wiring schematic- I tried to scan it and copy and resize and everything so I could add it to this post, but it's just not working. The image is so small ya won't be able to use it.
The 4 wires going to the switch are
gray- for the right tank signal
tan- for the left tank signal
black- for the ground (goes to the bus ground)
tan/black- for the aux fuel tank
I wish I were more computer literate so I could get the schematic on here for you. I can mail it to if you want me to. Or maybe you can copy the pic to your computer and resize it.

Thanks for all the help, Got the switch back in, Now I'm waiting for my other new tank. Should be here by Fri. Darn Wisconsin winters. Hoping the pump is still good from not using that side for almost two years. Thanks Again

I have one tank that works fine, and the other tank shows WAY past the full mark. Anyone else have this problem?

I have ran into that alot when ur tank shows way overfull 9times out of ten it is a ground problem... check all the wiring at the tank especially the ground! Keep it simple a poor ground can chase you in circles for days!
