smog pump pipe

I know that this is not about a truck, but while sorting the parts for my 1989 Trans Am, I found the smog pump and the pipe coming off of it, where does this pipe go to?  does it run to the cat converter?

The A.I.R. pump should have a harness and route to the exhaust manifolds and then to the cat
