Hey guys,

I read this forums all the time, but never post on them. Im in Iraq and the MWR net is freakin' slow. Anyways, wanted to share a picture of my 1981 Chevrolet C10 that my family has put together for me.
We;ve been working on it for the past 2 years, and its finally done, except some minor details.  ;D

Ok, Im trying to upload some more pictures, but this internet over here blows.

The paint is SEM Candy Apple Red, it was expensive, but worth it. Still need to put the emblems and trim on it, and have the box Rhino Lined, get some new seatbelts, repaint the firewall, and clean up the engine compartment. Engine is the GMPP 350, 290HP (wish I had bought a bigger one, but I didnt know deployment pay would be so good.), Trans is a SM465 (also needs a upgrade lol) and the rear is the stock 2.73 gears (sucks), so the drivetrain needs a little work. Exhaust is dual 3" pipes, with flowmaster Super 40's.

I did get to drive it when I was home on R/R, and it was a lot of fun, keeping gas in it was the worst part. Had lots of power, and even though I havent touch the suspension or steering yet, it handled like brand new.

Ugh, well I tried to upload 3, and only one worked..and its not a good one lol If you click on the thumbs of my 2nd post ,those pics open up bigger.

Nice ride.  How do you feel about lowering it??  A 3/5 on that would look sick!!

Hey,

Thanks. Not sure about lowering it yet, still need to get some rearend gears (only 2.73s now) and a new tranny (SM465 isnt fun to drive!). I want a 4speed transmission, but the only one I can find is the Richmond T10..anyone have any suggestions?

Also - No problem for serving..its actually not that bad over here. Ill have to try to post a picture of my 'Army' ride...the Stryker, anybody ever heard of them? its the best vehicle over here right now.

Thanks

A Richmond T10 would be leaps and bounds better than a SM465....

Hey,

How hard would it be to rig up a T10? I paid a couple hundred bucks for a new driveshaft for the SM465, and Im guessing that it'll have to be shortend for the T10...But other than that, do you see any issues with trying it?

Thanks much
Adam

Adam,
there shouldn't be any issues other than the possible driveshaft lenght, and tranny crossmember location.
