lower ball joints

im putting new ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm and pitman arm on my 79 i bought and i was wondering if there is  any good way to press them in with out getting a press- i managed to hammer the old ones out and was thinkin maybe if i rig something up to pulll them in using the threads on them and a piece of pipe and a nut to pull it up or putting a floor jack under it an raise up on it????

Just use a ball joint press. you can rent one for free from autozone.

You can also get one cheap at Harbour freight for about $39.

i finished that project awhile back
i did read sgt dells thing- it was very heplful
