I have a 86 c10 2wd w/ a 350..... i want a muffler w/ a very deep "throaty" idle, very loud when i take off... any ideas? i was thinking glasspacks? but if so which ones? i havent decided single or dual exhaust yet.

I like the sound of glasspacks. I would think the shorter ,the louder. I used the ones that were about 27" long on dual exhaust and it had a nice rumble.

I am running a flowmaster 50 series single 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet right now I have just got turn downs on it but plan to run both pipes out the left side like my truck had originally.

Glass packs sound good but when they blow out (and they will) they sound like a fart can. Summit sells a new muffler that is pretty loud but I forget what it's called off the top of my head. they're like $30 ea

"True dual" 1 chamber Flowmasters sound awesome on these trucks. We put a pair on my dads 79 (Jasper 350) and it has a sweet blue light special tone to it. Every cop in town stares at his truck when he blows by.

Ive got 2.5" duals with Dynomax Super Turbos, I like it, but Im ready for a change. Switching to dual 3", thinking about a pair of the Cherrybomb brand   Pro, or Vortex mufflers

As a rule of thumb, the bigger the pipes, the deeper, boomier and louder the sound will be. The smaller the pipe, the more snap and crack you will get out of it. More 'rappy'. I have dual 2.5" Dynomax Ultraflos with headers on a true dual 2.25" exhaust with H pipe, no cats and Magnaflow 3" tips. It's there but not boomy or noisy at all really, considering I have no cats. I had removed the cat on my Dakota R/T and had a 3 in/dual 2.5 out Flow 50 series with dual 3.5" Megs tips and that was much louder than my truck is now.

I'm running 3" pipe to 3" 2 chamber flows with 3" turndowns in front of the axle..that 10.25:1 468 is LOUD

the Cherrybomb glasspacks are what I am goin to get for my C/10. Im going from long tube headers to 3 inch pipes through 3 inch cherry bombs and out each side in front on the rear tires. you can get glasspacks that are seamless I am pretty sure the cherries are seamless.

i just went with flowmaster super 40... not the 44's i liked the super 40's better.

My truck has dual 27" glasspacks..they're a fairly mellow rumble at idle, and never get very loud. Flowmaster original 40 series sound sweet, about the perfect volume and tone for a daily driver that gets driven at night/early morning IMO. I love the sound of straight pipes, so if I didn't have to drive in a residential area late at night, I'd put short glasspacks on backwards so they blow out quicker and sound better..

How do those purple hornies sound? I was thinking of bolting the 3" flanged purple hornies right to my headers, then adding a universal H pipe right after them and then run the pipes right out in front of the rear tires. Should be pretty loud.

I was thinkin the same only without the H-pipe and have the pipes come out at a 45 degree angle kinda like this / \

I think the hornies with the header flange would be cheaper then buying cherry bombs+header flanges for 3". but I heard the hornies don't sound as good as cherries.

Pretty much true,, Evan Im driving a L6 it still sounds like granddads  caddy.
