What do you think of my door panels?
« on: June 12, 2007, 07:59:17 pm »
Well I took the GM door panels off of my 74 and have been toying with some custom ideas... One with the GMC emblem and I had some other ideas but I'm still unsure what I'm going to do. Give some ideas or feedback please

How about some wood trim in the recess?

Look good but some billet window rollers and door handles would finish the package off nice.
Like previously said some wood to match the dash. Maybe a splash of white to off set the spedo, etc.? The GMC logo in white maybe?
Just my opinion but your sill plates would look better / less obvious black?

Wood under the GMC emblem to match the dash. Just alittle bigger than the emblem. Not a rectangle, but like a shadow. Route the edges of the letters.

It's tweed. The handle is brushed the cranks I just threw on there quick to have something better than what was on there. I thought about woodgrain but trying to get a match would be tough. Yes I hate my sill plates and the carpet isn't full coverage so that's going too but that's down the road. Anybody else have custom door panels? I'd love to see some pix. Keep the ideas coming

i'm personally not a fan of advertising the make all over the place, but other than the GMC badges, those panels are really clean.

I agree I don't like any emblems in or on my trucks. But if you are going to do it then I would make it match existing colors. I take all emblems off my and customers rigs if the will will let me.
