Hey guys ,
I got the cab all blocked out as well as the doors.I had a few more spots to fix which was good cause i would hate to have done them after i really layed some paint on it..But i got the underside of the hood all prepped, fixed a few problems there as well.I got the inside of the fenders all prepped and i got the inner fenders all done as well.I also had a few minor issues with them as a few small dimples were showing as well as some factory dimples.I filled them in, primed them and blocked them out.So i am gonna take some snapshots of the progress this friday as well as the chassis.. I was pretty disgusted to show any of the progress the other guy did to it as it made me sick to my stomach to look at it.. But i feel better as the progress is going forward faster then i was expecting..But i ordered some fender stands and this weekend is when i go pick up all my spray booth making material..I may even do my ol mans car while i got the booth up..It needs a paint job bad so it may factor after all to do all of this...
thanks

Hey people,
Well i got the body all wetsanded minus 1 rear fender and some odds and end pieces as i am waiting them to be primed from a bodyshop and should have them back wednesday.Just in time to prep them and get them ready for paint next weekend.I figured i got at least 50 hours into wetsanding if not more.Considering i had to do alot of little filler detail work the idiot missed when trying to fill them in with primer. But it came out real good and i`m happy again.I bought all my paint supplies minus a few things which i`ll get this thursday. I got about 1400 in paint supplies so i figured with the idiot that screwed the truck up in the 1st place and now i got around 2,000 in paint materials. UNREAL i tell ya but i learned a valuable lesson here. But i am just checking in and letting everyone know next week is the time i`ll be painting it and i`ll do a video of it after its done...

Finding a good body guy sucks. It's hard enough to find a good body man at a premium body shop let alone someone to do it on the side.

Very true vile. Also to find 1 that wont rip you off.I been doing bodywork on n off for about 20 years and i learned alot in the days on how body shops operate.I seen alot of cutting corners and alot of gaffing. Its tough to find a good body person that takes pride in their work.I for 1 do cause a paint job is a signature of you.You put a crappy paint job on the vehicle it reflects on what kind of craftsmanship your capable of doing.I worked out alot of issues this so called body man left behind and ,am i would never do this to a person. So i licked my wounds and now im moving on...

Well now that you asked
I got all my paint materials ready to go, i just built a small mini rack to hang the bedsides, the tailgate, the front bed panel, the steps the steering column and the front stone guard panel and the rear lower support that goes under the tailgate. And i got the parts back today from the local body shop and i`m gonna block sand them tomorrow/tonight and they will be ready for saturday night when i shoot the truck .I also been plasticing the walls and the floors as i don`t need a blue garage... But tomorrow/tonight i`m going to paint under the hood and the inside of the fenders and paint the inner fenders as well and saturday mask the insides and then shoot the truck.. But this weekend this truck will finally be in 1 color..
thanks

Well phase 1 is done,
i got the inner fenders all painted and the inside of the front fenders and the underside of the hood. I sealed it with a black sealer and then 3 coats of base and 2 coats of clear. Here are some pics, i know some look hazy thats the overspray of clear in the air..
thanks

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do this properly, i figured i give the guy a helping hand with a money issue.Well now I'm the 1 with the money issue as he ripped me off. Well needless to say this time around it costed me here about 1500 total around 4800 but i now know i wont let anyone work on my vehicles but me. I learned after 1 time and once that 1 time is done its time to take control and do it right.Sure there are some small nibs of trash, heck its a garage not a down draft booth.I will say this this will be the last and only vehicle that gets painted in here , after this i`m so done.. If i do it again i`ll buy a small outdoor tent style car port and do it out there... But tomorrow is the real test for me.. So far there were no runs but some small dry areas but nothing major a touch up brush n a Lil clear cant fix...
thanks

If your interested its a 94 Porsche blue called iris blue metallic paint code 39 N . With black interior or tan (whichever i like) this blue is going to be a definite head turner.Once the windows are tinted and its all together i think ill have people wanting me to do their vehicle. It feels good to get back into the swing of things since i haven't painted a car since 2001 which really this truck was the last 1 i did before i moved to Florida. But being a painter by trade i felt good and confident on getting it in color. All the other times i never felt comfortable.I guess just having patience is the main key you take your time you`ll do good.If you rush your in for it..
thanks
