Coming along nicely! I hope to get my 80 project going soon. I might need some help figuring out some things along the way, so I hope I don't pester you or 80stepsideguy too bad.

77c15,
nah no need to pesture me i like helping out others s best a i can.Heck i pesture others for info as well. But i`m hoping to take a pic of the cowl hood on soon to really get a idea on how it`ll fit and blend in.
thanks
pat

p.s. thanks chris,
i know it said on the box if you alter it, modiffy it,paint it its yours and non returnable, well i am beyond the the brink of return, i had to slightly nip a sction out of the fender to alter the curve by the windshield post to flow with the curve.I gotta use a cutting bit to take some material out of the hinges so i can bring the door in some its at the point where its at the end of the adjustment where i cant bring the door in anymore, so once this is fixed i`ll put the door back on and hopefully it`ll be ok.

I`m hoping this truck doesnt take to to long i wanna get the body rolling soon.I may take panel by panel to a body shop and have them put it in high build primer after they do the bodywork , that way once i am ready for paint the hard work is just about done and i am that far ahead of the game..

Hi all,
well my car is just about done, i got some powdercoated parts done like the engine plates for the motor mounts, the cross brace for them the headlight buckets, in 2 weeks i`m sending the bed braces, the hood hinges, upper grille panel, front bumper brackets(all 4) all the front grille brackets and the hood latches and support and the 2 corner lower grille brackets as well.Plus i am gonna have done the radiator fan guard, the battery tray and clam and support done as well.Basicially alot of odds and ends so i can get em done now and not have to worry later on when i`m short on loot.I been working very hard on my car to try n get it done, i been lacking on the truck alot and i`m trying my hardest so i can drive the car some and get back on the truck.

thanks
pat

The pic of the truck in my avatar was from a guy that worked for Boyd coddington and i am not sure on the wheels and the truck was on ebay a while back , but i do know i`m gonna go with perhaps 19s in the front and 20s in the rear.As far as wheel choice i`m not positive, i need to get the ball rolling on this project as its taken a back burner leap currently due to the cougar being repaired currently and i`m having a 8 x 22 porch put on the front of my home and has a roof over it as well. But i had my camera pics developed the other day of my progress on the frame being painted and the holes in the cowl i cut out so i can put the hood adjusters sections in.

thanks

Well i sent out a lot more parts today for powdercoating, they coated 35 pieces and i think after this bunch of  parts the cashflow will me minimal, they quoted me a price of 750.00 to do it i figured not to bad since i had alot less the last time and it was 500.00. At 1st the  father thought 1,000 the kid said no he is a returning customer so he figured 700.00 then he said it wont go over 750.00 and should be done by thursday.Plus he is looking at a lift for his shop and theres a place selling 1 and a 4 post lift, his father knew i was looking for 1 and said hey, why not see if he will sell them both as a package deal so i said i can do that and if the seller agrees were gonna take a ride to palm beach, pick them both up and i`ll pay for the fuel 1 way and the father n son will pay for the fuel back. So look for pics of my parts possibly by friday here , i`m sure there gonna look sweet.

thanks
pat

HI all,
well here are some snapshots of a few pieces i had done by a local powdercoater, man it looks like liquid glass. I have had over 50 pieces powdercoated already and i`m totally impressed. I got a few pieces leftover i don't think i`m gonna use like the upper grille panel thats original from my truck and a left side NOS grille bracket a used center grille bracket for inside hood release, 2 upper radiator hold down shields and some other pieces i may have powdercoated and sell. But i am doing 3 projects at once, my truck, my 70 cougar(had the entire rear suspension done as well as the housing and backing plates) and i`m doing a early 20th century wooden wheel horse drawn farm wagon. The hood hinges are the trucks originals and they look like glass and the upper grille panel there is a aftermarket but it looks so sweet and i test fitted it before i sent it out and it fits good and all the holes lined up to the radiator support.
Next week i`m sending more stuff out, i`m having 4 bullit edition wheels in the centers powdercoated to match the color of my car, also some hood hinges for my cougar, the ebrake setup the rear stepside lower panel under the tailgate, i`m gonna have that and the 2 stepside steps powdercoated on the inside of the parts all done in black. The part next to the center grille bracket is the brake pedal assembly housing, he also took it apart and powdercoated the brake pedal assembly as well,At this rate this truck will be to nice to drive. All THE NOS parts i gathered for the truck including some pieces i bought from members here were all done in black and look awesome.I dont think i could go back to having the parts painted again.

thanks
pat
