Lowered suspension shocks.
« on: July 17, 2007, 06:37:58 pm »
I am getting ready to lower my truck 2/4. I have a 82 C10, SWB.  Not sure if I am going to use coils or spindles in front, but will likely use replacement springs and or shackles in rear. Will I need to replace the rear shocks with a 4" drop? Or can i keep the factory replacements?

in my experience its always better to use drop shocks. I've gotten lots of drop shocks from djm and never had a complaint

If you are running shock extenders in the rear you can use the factory shocks, for the front I highly recommend dropped shocks. (they are actually shocks that have a different compression/extension length to match the drop)

I recommend drop shocks as well.  If you under there doing the work you should replace them anyways.

If you use spindles, you won't need the drop shocks. Spindles don't actually change the suspension and shock travel. If you use coils, you should get a set.
