Any Aftermarket Hood Locks?
« on: August 12, 2007, 10:42:33 pm »
As the title implies...does anyone know of any aftermarket hood locks for those of us without?  Or is it best to just hit the U-Pull-Its (would the OEM bolt in)?

only ones I ever seen were the mr. gaskets hood locks like a hood pin, but have like a round pop machine style lock and key.

Pins or twist locks (mostly used on glass hoods in racing) will be your only choice I think.

Try Jegs or summit

Took a look at Jegs and Summit, but nothing found as of yet.  Yes, a chain would work, but is not really the look I'm going for...
Its sad that there are alot of things no longer available for these classics.

I did up a guys hunting truck 78 K20 for him one time. I welded two pad lock hasps to either side of the tail gate, and hood to fenders. Then bolted two from the cap rear door to the gate. still could have broken the windows to get in, but thats what he wanted. We bolted a steel tool box into the bed with locks on it too. Then I painted the whole truck OD green.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

An OEM from the 76-80 will work.  (I think it was 76..)
