well depending on where you heard it, it is describing the process I made popular in 2003 where you remove a section from the crossmember to drop it 1.5". It uses all stock pieces for the engine, but requires the steering to be re-routed around the upper control arm.
We have been selling these since 2003.

Geometry, no, steering linkage from the column to the steering box, yes.

why would u do this mod dose it give the motor more room or if it lowers the vehicle how dose it do it

It lowers the truck the amount of the channel. the crossmember is raised up that amount...
