Rip off artist
« on: September 06, 2007, 08:35:11 am »
My buddy drove down to Georgia to pick up his boat his father in law gave him. His father in law assured him that he had just repacked the wheel bearings. About four hours into the trip a wheel bearing let go on the interstate, ruined the axle etc. He got it fixed by some moron just off the interstate. Check out the picks how the mouth breather mounted the axle. He brought it the rest of the way home to New Hampshire like this, and didn't think anything was wrong with it. He even took it to the lake 5 or 6 times! I told him he was lucky the whole axle didn't pop out from under the trailer going down the road. I took a pry bar and popped the u bolts right off. The bent him over for almost $2,000 too. I don't know how some people can sleep at night!
It took me about 2 hours to cut the perches off, flip the axle, and re weld them back on! He could have done that charged him $2,000, made a huge profit, still would have been bending him over, but at least he wasn't risking peoples lives. What is wrong with people?

I am simply amazed it made it back here, plus to the lake, & back for two months. lake is about 15 miles one way from his house. The only thing he complained about was that he had to back his truck into the lake about half way up his tail lights to load the boat, not just the trailer. He is a real nice guy but has no clue about some things.

Because the mouth breather is in Georgia and he lives in New Hampshire.

Where at in Georgia?   I have plenty of friends in Georgia.   Does your friend still have a copy of the receipt/work order?   He's got a dang good case against this jag if he does.  I don't condone being a "sue happy" person but you could easily make that jerk cough up some cash in court.   That work has negligence written all over it...

He picked the boat up in Georgia. I am not sure the shoddy work was done in Georgia. He said he had been on the road for several hours. Could have been north of Georgia. He says it isn't worth the trip back down to fight it.
