true dual exhaust
« on: September 14, 2007, 08:12:13 am »
I have a 87 K-10 with a 350 that I'm wanting to put true dual exhaust on it, now that it's emission exempt. Right now I have the cat with a Flowmaster that splits into duals. Muffler shops won't touch it because of the converter. I was thinking of getting headers and ordering a dual exhaust kit from  . Has anyone ever bought one of these kits, and if so, how do they fit?

Just find yourself a good exhaust shop who will do it and just tell the guy cash no receipt. Bolt on's suck big time! Even stop in at a Meineke and talk to a talk and ask him if he can do it on the side.

Of course you didnt have one 197 nor did they say anything because yours is a '73 which is before they started putting them on the trucks. I think anything after 1978(?) is required to have a cat. Jimmy: do you know anyone thats skilled at welding? Because if so you could buy a kit and have him install it.

I think it was after 1977 cause my 77 has one and it says in the manual(still in good shape too) about how vehichles are required to have cats now blah blah blah.

Ville is right. Just look around . You can find someone with a bender and stock and pay them cash. I have a guy in my area . He'll do anything he dont care. Cash no way to track it. That works for me cause 9 out of 10 I'm running something that breaks the rules .
I actually found this guy years ago , he said he wouldnt do it so I asked.... Do you know anyone that will do it for cash. That changed the whole story. Now if I need something I go to him.

That wasn't a guess, it was 1975 for trucks under 6001 GVW, which is ALL 1/2T's
