NP203 checking and filling oil
« on: November 26, 2007, 03:44:40 pm »
Ok, I'm about to install a part time kit on my NP203.  What I need to know is how to check the oil level and re-fill the oil after it's been drained on the transfer case.  I know to use 10W30 to refill, I just need to know where to fill it.  I'm new to this so I apologize if that is a stupid question.

Thanks
Kyle

It's not a stupid question. You should see a fill plug on the transfercase. You fill it to the bottom of the fill plug on level ground. I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

is 10w30 the recommended oil for a transfer case?  i thought it was 90 weight like rear-ends.

Not in a NP203.  You are thinking the gear driven version.
