« on: November 30, 2007, 10:33:40 am »
i have a 87 k1500 with a 350. if i start the truck up and drive a short distances and come to a stop it idels real rough and losses vacuum. so its had to stop especialy if your coming up to a stop sign. has anyone ever experinces this before ive tried the fuel system cleaner and everything im gunna try to do a tune up: plugs wires cap rotor pcv valve fuel filter etc. and if anyone had any ideas or hints let me know ive talked to my boss at the shop i work for and my teacher at the auto mechanics school i go to no one can seem to figure it out... other thoughts are the map sensor!

Quick test: Pop the vacuum hose off of the EGR valve and see how it behaves. If your EGR solenoid is hanging open it will do exactly as you are describing.

So what are you saying? That it did the trick? If it did it's not the EGR valve it's the solenoid.

If you pulled the hose off and it fixed it that would be the solenoid not the valve.
