Sway bar??????

I have an 83 swb GMC  is it suppse to have a sway bar?? I dont have one..
The reason I ask is because I was looking for some upper/lower control arm bushing and I see sway bar bushing also.... ???

My truck didn't come with a front sway bar either.  Here's the one I bought.  ADDCO 576
And if you didn't have a bar from the factory you'll need a pair of these brackets (#7 on the top diagram).   34-1383  Not sure if that applies to the Belltech bar though.
