Hey Every one I just got a chance to use my dually for what was built for. I ran down and picked up another project car. The truck did great but I definatly need to get the 5 speed in and the Pro-Jection, I averaged about 6.8 MPG :( oh well at least I do not have payment's and my tags and insurance are really cheap :)  oh well here are a couple of picts.

Truck looks great! I feel your pain about the gas milage, I've got a 3/4 ton that gets about the same but like you said its paid for.

Got the F*** truck fixed and out of my shop this weekend and I was able to load up a real truck today and run it down to the carwash to clean the frame for paint ;)

It's been a long time since I've done any work to my dually,The truck has been running great it's got plenty of power and it's very dependable but at 6 MPG it does not get driven very much so I am in the process of picking up a Cummins 5.9 out of a 96 3/4 ton truck and installing it. I have a chevy NV4500 that I need to install the Dodge bell housing and input shaft I am also picking up a 91 Suburban to steal all of the AC componants and the electric speedomiter package. As soon as I get the engine out of the doner I'll update this page.

Yup, that's what made my final descision I chatted with Blake H on a 2003 8.1ltr swap and found out its almost the same amount of work to do a Cummins swap so I decided to go for the Cummins. The engine I found is at my friends Junkyard it's in a wrecked 96 3500 and it has 130,000 miles on it he also has the bellhousing and input shaft that I need to convert my chevy NV4500 to use. Fornutatly he has done a few Cummins swaps and used to have a performance diesel shop so he is going to give me a hand on my swap.

I am not sure what I'll do with my BBC thats comming out I guesse I'll have to find another project car :)
