What would be the benefit of a After market cooling fan? like one of them 70$ ones from summit?
Cpl degrees cooler then stock or is it just for looks?

The main benefit is thermal efficiency/consistency and lack of mechanical drag on the crankshaft. Unfortunately the only real bolt on high efficiency fans for our trucks are around $500 bucks. A 16" fan alone with no shroud will not proved adequate cooling

Sounds like a good deal. I would love to put a dual setup on my 85 c10, but like Vile said they are pricey.

If you can mount one effectively inside your existing shroud then go for it! Just make sure you wire it up using the correct gauge wire, circuit protection, and a relay controlled by a thermostatic switch.
