Who did what to brace your 73-80 hood?

I need to brace the left side of my hood, it's got the "bend" half way back on the left side.  I'm gonna go ahead and brace both sides though.  Who's got idea's, let's see em!

Bracing the hood isn't really necessary if you fix your hinges and keep them well oiled. The old braces they used to sell were small angle iron and they pop riveted in.

I bought metal supports that bolt between the hinge and the hood.  The supports were about 10 inches longer than the hinge.  Keeping the hinges oiled will really help.  Steve.

I have welded a strip of flat stock to allot of these hoods over the years. I have a parts truck that in order to drive it from my old house to my new one I self tapped wood strapping down to the top of the hood while a buddy of mine stood on it to flatten it out.

i've seen those things in the jc whitney catalog before. never really knew what they were for until i started reading about them.
