'74 3/4t 4x4 Heater Core

Ok...I've sat through about one too many cold hours of pushing snow and decided to take a stab at changing out the heater core in this old truck.  Being everyone was so helpful with the ignition cylider / wiring issue I had, I thought I'd give this a shot.

Any assistance in how to get to the heater core, remove & replacing it would be greatly appreciated!!  Pictures in many of the other posts are worth all the time it takes to post them!!

Nope...just a good 'ol work truck...

It's pretty easy:
Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
Disconnect heater hoses at core, then plug core tubes to prevent coolant spillage.
Working from engine compartment, remove distributor duct stud attaching nuts.
Remove glove box and door assembly.
Disconnect air-defrost and temperature door cables.
Remove floor outlet, then the defroster duct to heater distributor duct attaching screw.
Remove heater distributor to dash panel attaching screws
Pull distributor rearward, then disconnect all harnesses that will interfere with distributor removal.
Remove heater distributor from vehicle.
Remove heater core retaining straps, then the heater core.
Reverse procedure to install.

Hey Folks I am installing a heater core. The cab wall to heater box insulation is soaked, also brittle, and falling off.... should i get replacement insualtion or would it hurt, in your experience, to do away with the insulation between the box and cab wall???

I would replace it with something more modern for insulating.

I have used the seam tape for the run on metal roofing under them before!
