wiring harness

ok if i got a wiring harness from a 76 would it be hard to put in and the heater did thay all have the same connector's in the back of them

i think my truck is a 74 but the wiring harness is 78 if that makes any cents   but  some of the things on my truck look like a 78 and some look like a 73-76

hey guys i am sorry every body has to put up with this it is my fault i bought the messed up truck but my vin says that it is a 78 but the dash is not a 78 and the interior is not but i don't care about the vin anymore i just want a truck to match i mean every body that looks at my truck says it does not make sense why my truck says it is a 78 but it does not match the year

I'd suggest you buy a painless harness and forget about it..

I personally woulnd't care what anyone thinks.  If I did, I would be driving a brand new truck and not own 6 of these vintage...
If the wiring is as bad as you describe, I agree a Painless would eliminate the problem.

Okay, I got to ask, where the heck are you getting the info or pics, you are using to deem your truck not being a '78???

The Pics I have seen so far, your dash does look like a '78, but there has been a few additions by the previous Owner(s), on top of the Extra Stuff that was already there from the Factory....

 This is from a 78 in the first picture that I got cut out for me. The second one is my dash and there is the wiper hole someone cut it so a 78 switch would fit and they had drilled more holes.  The third picture is a 73-74 wiper switch and the fourth pic is my dash, this is why I do not think that my truck is a 78 and the doors and the still door plates, it all looks like 73-76 instead of a 78.  The seat belts really dont look like a 78 either, but I dunno.
