74 crew cab dually
« on: March 05, 2008, 10:55:05 am »
HI, i am new to this site and would like to post a picture of the truck i bought 2 weeks ago and have aleady tore it apart for new paint and interior. It has a 383 with 700R4 trans. It has been lowered all the way around, spindles in front and bags on the rear. I will update ASAP as we go through the steps. I also have customer cars as well so this may take a little longer to get done. The paint will not be black and those flames are gone! Thanks for looking.

Welcome. Truck looks pretty good! Kinda liked the flames, myself. Understand getting rid of them, though.

Welcome as well!

Hmmm Too Bad about the paint, really partial to it as well...  To me it only needed new rims, cowl hood, new mirrors, and slammed in the weeds....  Guessing your probably going for the later frontend as well......

this baby WILL NOT look much like this later on. I am doing a complete color change but it will still have flame on it, just my flames. I cant wait to get it complete, i have got tons of new parts for it all the way around! I will also be doing interior as well at the same time.

I like the flames too.  How does it drive?  It reminds me of this one that's down here with a turbo bigblock, it's lowered and it has flames too.

The paint scheme is cool and the flames are cool but not very artistic or realistic looking. If you did them nice that thing would look awesome! Definitely post more pix and of your suspension too.

believe it or not , this thing rides better than my crew cab dually powerstroke ford. you cant even tell you are in a one ton truck! drove it home the day i bought it, all interstate, all the way, 80-85 MPH for 400 and some miles. this is the BEST driving older chevy that i have had. i will post pics in a couple of day of the truck in pieces.

here are some pictures as she is at this point. completely in pieces, but before long it will all be back looking much better than before. i also added some pics of the rear suspention. it has air ride with ladder bars. i am in the process of removing the gas tanks and putting it in the rear between the frame.
