hard to shift

is there a way of oiling your transfercase shifter mine is hard to shift i think it is on the side some where
1980 1/2 ton shortbed project...
1978 pontiac grand prix...

If it's the linkage just hit it with some PB blaster on all of the pivot points. If it's internal try a fluid change first.
