Sounds a little far fetched....I wonder how many people have tried it.

i think the way to get good mpg is to get a small car+small cubic inches. (and preferrably small diesel cubic inches).  This is why i'm considering switching to an S-10----if i can somehow haul 4x8 plywood sheets in it.  But i probably won't because i don't do that much driving per week and thus the fuel savings would not be significant.

Anyways, i think Smokey Yunick came up with some legitimate and proven ideas which should be examined.

The fact that i did not comment on this "preignition" device probably indicates my scepticism.

If this were true, wouldn't the inventor have won the Nobel Prize?  Wouldn't it be on the Nightly News?  I like the Ford Van comparison, 11 gmpg before, and 43 afterwards, +269%  I love it. I wonder what my 91 4x4 sub would get...I am guessing, since it gets about 13 before, it would get, ummm, let me guess, 13 afterwards.

I guess the reason why we haven't heard about it is that EXXON is spending money to cover it up----smells like a conspiracy---let me arrest them.

What do the Arabs think of this?

I like how our wonderfull govt. can make Bill Gates break up his company, & step down as CEO because he has a monopoly. But its OK for the several oil company's to bend us over the oil barrel!

Fuel prices are ridiculous and lots of people are getting rich for no apparent reason. If we go overseas to spend zillions of dollars to help a bunch of psychots build their nation shouldn't we at least be getting some sort of return? Like maybe OIL or some form of repayment? I still have not heard one good reason for the price of oil. Electric powered vehicles will be the next biggest thing that will be here to stay. Hybrids are just a transitional technology that will sooner than later fade away from the mainstream. Running cars on pure water requires more energy to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen then it does to simply burn gasoline. A few things I noticed about that guys commercial is #1 he really doesn't know how a conventional 3 way catalyst works and #2 is wrong about how a fuel injection system adds more or less fuel. He gives an example of pulsing an injector twice instead of once to make it richer.... Injectors are simply held on longer to increase fuel delivery.... But hey let's hear from someone who's tried it....Who wants to be the guinea pig? What would they charge for one of our trucks? lol

Fuel savings...what is that?  Turbos add mileage, brothers truck gained 2mpg just by bolting the turbo on.  Now when you drop the hammer, that is another thing altogether.

Right there with you Blazin, but a simple explaination works this way..

Bill Gates= Money to Him, His Employees,Stock Holders,Investors,Whoever he shares it with, etc...

Oil Companies= Most of the Politicians in Washington(If not just major ones, current one in the White House,Etc.),Politicians in Most States,Investors in the US Economy(World and Local), and the list keeps going......

Why would Ol' GW want to see his main Investment, and Retirement Fund Capped, or anyone else for that matter ???
