« on: March 29, 2008, 10:48:29 pm »
O.K. so if you chose to post some up you can blame Vile. he got me to thinking with his coment of
" you should have seen me when I was 17 "
I will go first. I dug up some old pics of me, figured if I got a chuckle out of them I am sure you guys will! ;D
1971 or 2 My first car.

1984 Nice hair cut, I was almost 14 here.

1988 I was 17 or 18 here, off to work. I think I thought I was all that, and more!

1989 Alice's senior prom.

1992 About the last time I remember being skinny!

1995 playing with Junior. Little over two years to gain a few pounds.

Fast forward 12 years to 2007. Taking Airel, & Frank to their junior prom.

OK, since you started it....here ya go

Fifth Grade (love the "Mad Bomber" shirt)

My first girlfriend (forgot about her when i went to college :D 1980)

Got my shotgun for xmas when I was 13

Didn't take me long to use it on a turkey, still remember it was 19 3/4 lbs.

The master fisherman -1981

My cross country running days (boy was I skinny-1984)

Runnin' my first marathon, all 26.2 miles when I was 18

rebuilding my second engine in high school

Going off to college with my old mustang (1986)

Done good in college Freshman year, dad got me a 65 stang (i guess he didn't have much faith in my rebuilding the engine in old yeller)

Going to college near D.C. had its privaledges...when the Redskins won the superbowl (1988), we went to Georgetown and had a blast....college buddies of mine...we had a garage attendant take our pic...that's me on the left.

In the 21st century now...It's not embarrasing, but, it was the happiest moment of my life, when my son was born.  Of course, I am heavier, bald, and married--so it doesn't matter anymore. Me, dad, and Andrew

I can't wait 'til my son has a girlfriend, so that I may show her these pics..

Sorry if i got a little carried away, but, once started, I didn't see an end in sight.

Except I still have my mop!

Your shop class kids ever seen that first pic?
Del, why did you have a tomahawk type hammer in auto shop class. looks like the one I keep next to my wood stove to chop kindling!
Second to last pic is the only one I have of my 74 Malibu. 454, the TH 350 thats now in my Blazer, 3;73 posi. Notice the push bar on the front. That car quickly earned me the nickname
" The Dukes Of Danbury ". My driving style might have had something to do with it too! :P Man that would rip some silly donuts.

Yeah, I used that hatchet many times for kindling wood for dad's wood stove in the garage.  No, I never took any type of shop class....I guess I kind of mislabled the pic...it was when I was in high school (age) but not built IN high school.  I was always someone who would take things apart and put them back together.  Started off with radios, tv's, when i was 15, i started taking my car apart and at 16, rebuilt my first engine.    That was in my dad's garage (the one that burned a few years ago).  Why the hatchet?  I dunno, that is what dad had laying around i guess, or i was too lazy to get a hammer ;D.  I was just tapping the pistons in with whatever I had within arms reach....the wooden end of course as not to damage the new piston.

I still have that belt buckle.
I didn't think you were using the hatchet end! ::) Just thought it was a strange hammer to have in a shop.
I did think you meant shop class!
