i keep getting slammed with paintwork so i haven't had time. as of now i got both my trucks and this van i'm paitning, with a stack of helmets in my garage. i'm moving into a small shop to at least use to work on the trucks so that they're indoor and i'm not screwed everytime the rain ruins my work week.

yeah when we were removing the windshield, i wanted to keep it. so i went to get a screwdriver to pull the clips out of the front, i come back out and my girlfriend says that the corner was cracked. (it was't before i went to get the screwdriver.) so i said screw it, and i just climbed in and pushed the rest of it out.

oh well. lol

I kept the same windshield from a 79'Suburban i parted out for my 83' k5 but on fitting it was thinner and was very loose in the gasket so i just lobbed it on the deck, bit of a letdown after being careful with it..lol
Great news on the shop space, things can progress quick when your under cover.. 8)

got them both moved yesterday. just rented a tow dolly and moved em in. first one i did by myself, i swore i was going to have a heart attack. guess my body's not ready to be worked that much yet. lol.

so there it sits now.

my engine was so rusted and pitted pretty bad, my builder was afraid the block would have a crack in it. so he built me up a 4 bolt short block, new everything, pistons, rings, everything is new. he asked me what cam to put in it. i have NO idea. i want something streetable, but i want some power in there. good bit of power.

any suggestions on which cam to use?

still waiting on keys, then i gotta move all my parts over, sort them out again, figure out what i'm keeping, selling, giving away and trashing, then start cutting and tearing into what's already there, and redo the same steps.

oh, and move my tools over. grrr... i'm looking for a cheap toolbox on craigslist and just getting extra tools to keep over. the spot it's at is really ghetto, so i'm paranoid about having anything stolen

Make all the windows and doors very secure, and leave the biggest, meanest dog you can find in there.

and i have a rottweiler, a big 160lb one, that isn't friendly to people. so he won't have an issue keeping the neighborhood hooldums out.

Nice area to store the truck in. Lots of room. Looks like it has nothing BUT a kitchen sink  :D

As for cam, what gear ratio will you have? Tire height? Stall converter? Heads? All of those play a role. Just my humble amateur opinion but I like my Comp XE268H cam. A similar cam from another manufacturer of your liking would make a pretty streetable cam. The "268" style cams are pretty popular. Do you have the cash to upgrade to a roller?

the guy that's building this, he's about an hour away from me, so we're basically building it up as i send over paypal payments til it's done. i really don't have a clue what i'm building i just want something nasty. reliable, aggressive enuff so it's a lotta fun to drive. it's not in any rush, so i can pay as i go, i'm thinking of having it done by end of summer.

nto sure what heads and whatnot he's got on it, i'll ask him and post up what he tells me
