well it's been some time off and again between doc visits, etc... so i finally gave up on this thing and had it towed to a shop to get it done. it sitting at my mother's property between her husband sabotaging crap and the cats all over the covers tearing them up, i get the call that the motor was flooded and things are all rusted in side, and something that looks like chocolate milk is pouring out of cylinder 8.

so now what. fml.

so of course there's ALWAYS a story behind the fiasco of this truck.

so yesterday, we rent a tow dolly to go get them both. i drive about 40 min south to the mechanic's farm that was working on my truck. parts are missing, he's moved, great. we loaded it up, and took it. not before fighting in the mud with it for an hour trying to get it pushed up on the dolly. of course, yesterday was the only day it was raining. which of course, it only rained when we were outside pushing something, but the transits to and from, no need to even turn my wipers on.

so as we're about to leave, my gf notices a pomeranian running around. the people that lived there, this halfassed mechanic and hsi family, left their two dogs there to starve. they'd been gone little over a week, both dogs locked inside with no food or water. so great, we took the 2 dogs. my gf took the pom, and i took this old boxer that was nothing but bones really.

go home, drop off truck 1.

go to mom's, meet the constable there. it starts pouring again. those pigs piled 3 riding mowers, a fireplace, some staircase, some kitchen cabinets, tons of garbage, a baby grib, toys, bicycles, van parts, whatever in the bed, on top and around my other truck. another hr to dig it out, got it up on the dolly easier. got it home.

so being soaked and covered in mud almost the whole day, i'm glad i keep a change of clothes in my suburban. dry pants, yes. but i still have this boxer. i can't keep him, my rottie tried to kill him. so we facebooked it up, someone knew osmeone that had a rescue for boxers, so sure, yes i was asked to drive him out. didn't realize that was an hr outta my way. but ok, the dog's in good hands now.

but moral of the story is i got both my trucks home, where MY toolbox is, MY body stuff, everything to actually make some prgoress. so i got some of the stuff off the wreckage that i wanna keep, i gotta get the tow hitch off and the wheels and bed. tomorrow, i got a late start today, i'm stuffed up and got a miserable cold now.

only hassle i really am running into is moving the bed by myself... any ideas?

other than that, oh my engine is rusted and seized up way too bad, need to go another route. so lookign for another 350 for it now.

Good for you for helping those dogs. Anyone who abuses or mistreats dogs should be pecked to death by piranha's. Tear apart the engine, although it's seized up you may be able to still rebuild it.

Bravo man for rescuing those dogs. Good on ya for sure. Too bad your rottie didn't like the boxer. He's cute  lol

That's just incredible how this 'mechanic' and his family operated. Blows my mind. So what did you take your trucks there for, and why did you choose him?

I know his daughter. and my gf has known them forever. so i was assured, regardless of whether i was able to help, whether i was in the hospital or not, he'd get this thing together, seemed like a good guy. then i got the call from his daughter after my gf and her had a falling out, and she says, someone stole their cherry picker. so i flat out said, nice try. i'm not buying that my engine and tranny just got stolen. you live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, so if anyone stole it, its becasue YOU told them it was there. so i better have my stuff within the next hour or i'll have the whole house arrested if i can. as soon as the cops got involved, it miraculously popped up right down the st from my gf's house.

my edelbrock 1406 is now gone, along with the distributor i didnt' wanna replace either. so screw it. there's an engine shop here i took the motor to, he's trying to save it. but he had a 3ft bar in there and couldn't get the crank to turn over, so i'm thinking it's better left sunk with the titanic and start over.

so today, now that i've spent too much money on constables, cops, gas, tow dolly rentals, i'm going to reorganize my whole garage, all my tools so i know where EVERYTHING is. since my carb went missing, as well as a few other things, he had left some tools in his garage which are now mine. so our discussion on the phone was such, either my stuff comes back, or i keep all the tools and jacks i took. no harm no foul. or, he can come get the tools etc i took, and i can press charges. his choice.

so now all the stuff i confiscated, i can "just keep it." i'd rather buy my own crap and have my parts back, but whatever, ok fine. at this point, the truck is torn down, it's in the right state to start frame up. so i'll just replace as i go. i have radiation scheduled i think in june, so i'd like to have the frame done, the dent out of the bed, and some of the cab done so i can be ready to paint it. i'm going to paint the hood and new fenders, etc at some point, they're in boxes and whatnot, might as well get them out of the way. i got plenty of paint. ;)

yeah, today i put my paying work aside to get the windshields out. we started on the front, and then when i went to get something from my toolbox, all of a sudden there was a crack in the corner. so then i was pretty pissed the windshield was done. we pulled it out anyway i wanna cut this section out for another memeber that needs one pretty bad... so here's the pics from today's quick work.
