start problem

got a 90 gmc sierra. put edelbrock intake on with throttle body. now wont start? dont have a timing light but am pretty sure its close. just continues to crank and sometimes will backfire through the throttle body if i start moving the dist anybody got any idea

Sounds like you either installed the distributor wrong or miswired the cap.

I second what Vile said...sounds like the distr. is firing on the exhaust stroke, vs the firing stroke.
