Hmmm gonna have to look into that, i want to buy like XM or sirus cause to me the radio stations arent what they were say 10-15 years ago but what i get tired of is the repeating of the songs, i can work a 10 hour day i can hear the same song like 3 times in 10 hours, it gets old so i bring in a stack of C/Ds and can change what i wanna listen to w/o any commericials .But i like some of alice coopers songs like building a house of fire, poison, loves a loaded gun.
Go for it (the satellite radio).  My wife bought it for me 2 years ago for fathers day and I haven't listened to regular radio since.  I drive 3 hours a day, sometimes more, and I couldn't live without it.  No commercials, tons of tunes in all kinds of genres, and you can drive for hours listening to the same station.  Anything over 50 miles has you switching FM stations due to static.  Lots of talk shows, sporting (ESPN and every NFL game, both home and away broadcasts) news, and weather/traffic every 4 minutes for most major metro areas can be had on Sirius.  XM has different content, so research each to find what suits you better.  I was going to go with XM just to spite Howard Stern (can't stand him), but the Sirius channel lineup fit my tastes better overall.

People always give me the "I'm not gonna pay for something that I can get for free" line, but you pay for cable, and you pay a lot.  And it is so not like regular radio.  Not having to listen to some DJ break in every 20 minutes to tell me "my dog/cat/bird/iguana has had much better stools and a shiny coat while eating brand X food" is worth every cent of the $11/month.

The only downside is there are commercials on the non-music stations like ESPN, Playboy, Blue Collar Comedy, Roaddog Trucking, etc.  But they're still only 2-4 times per hour, and you have 100 other things to listen to for the 4 minutes the program is interrupted.

Other bonuses:
If you put down a little extra cash on a decent unit, you get some fancy features like 45 minutes of playback and alerts when your favorite song or artist is playing on any channel, kind of like Tivo.

You can listen to most of the Sirius content online too.  All of the music and most of the talk channels are available.  You get a log-in and password when you sign up.  I don't know if XM has this as well, but I would assume it does.

As a money saver, I put a buddy of mine on my account as a second receiver for $6.99 more per month, and we split the total cost 50/50, so I really only pay $9/month for it when I pay for the year up front.
I'm not affiliated in Sirius, don't own stock, etc.  I just love the product.  A lot.

It caught my attention when I read about Clutch just now....

So I'm thinking Led Zepplin, Marshall Tucker, Allman Bros, Skynyrd, but modern...hmmm.

I went to Walmart.com clicked on music, clicked on download mp3 (songs are only $0.94) and previewed a few of their songs....oh my goodness, I had to reach for the tylenol--my head.

If that is modern southern rock, then in their day, Metallica and Megadeath must have been their modern folk music artists.  Oh, my head still hurts.

Anything with a good beat. I "prefer" good old Southern Rock, but like it mixed with Classic Rock, Pop, hip-hop, mainstream rap,.....like I said, anything that has a good beat.

It would take a really long time to list all of the music I like, I guess a good way to put it is ... I like all kinds of music from Cradles of Filth to Carl Perkins, and that includes bluegrass.
