Dash/instrument bezel treatments
« on: May 09, 2008, 08:03:22 am »
I'm trying to decide what to do about my dash bezel.  My original is black (Custom Deluxe model).  It's kind of worn, and I like the Silverado-style silver bezel so I bought an aftermarket silver bezel, but it just doesn't fit correctly, and I haven't been able to find an original in good enough condition to use.  As a result, I'm considering trying to do something with my original bezel.

How about some pictures of dash bezel treatments you did on your truck, or have seen on other trucks?

Look on eBay. You need to find one for I believe 77-80 for correct fitment but you can also buy a wood grain kit or the aluminum trim pieces to fit over your existing bezel.

I used Dupli-color wheel cover paint and painted mine.  Here is a pic:

Cleaned the bezel real good, sprayed on adhesion promoter according to can instructions then sprayed on color.  Dupli-color has some awesome colors.

wow Jeff!  i was thinking about going with one of the High Sierra/Sierra Classic/Silverado bezels so i could get the "brushed aluminum" look but man, i might have to reconsider...that looks NICE!

I like that, too!  Was that Argent Silver you used?  I think I'm going to give that a try on my original bezel.

I'd like to see what's available in the wood grain kits and aluminum trim kits.  Do you know the name of the source(s) for these?
