Much Improved!

I have the same ones on my 78!

I went from this  (Those tires had a 5-1/2 inch wide tread)

To this:

3/4 tons and up never had any wheels worth a crap until the late 90's.  I'm glad the bolt pattern matches up and they fit, because I jst like wheels with the bowtie in the cap instead of some wheel brand.  Plus these wheels look pretty sporty.  I had the chance to get some of the aluminum wheels but I liked the steel ones better, I think they fit these trucks better.

Also, something I came across on ebay...  The crome version of those wheels, aren't chromed.   They have a thin chromed "skin" that clips onto the wheel.  This is how my wheels are.  They are actually black painted with a skin on them.   I saw some of these skins on ebay for (i think) $30-40 for a set of four skins.  If you want chrome wheels, this would be a cheap way to get them and make use of the great deal you already got on your wheels.  There is a 6-lug version of these wheels so make sure you get the 8-lug version of the skins.  Looks great man!

Thanks for $100 I could not pass it up.  I got the conversion lugs at the Indy swap meet.  I changed them over with my tire machine and kept track of the wheel weights placement and it runs down the road great.

on my truck would i need any type of adapter to fit the newer style chevy or dodge 8 lug rims? I believe the newer style trucks use the metric lug pattern but i could be wrong. Also what is the lug pattern of my truck?
 Thanks in advance

http://www.ezaccessory.com/GM_9_16_External_Thread_Lug_Nut_p/98-0009.htm  is one example if you want to use the factory caps that go with the new style rims.  I got mine at a swap meet for a whole lot cheaper.

Assuming your talking about your 87, the GM rims will fit right on your truck.
