TODAY is a Great Day to visit our Store and order the parts you need for your truck ! ! !
76-77 is the same (mech oil sender) is that what the cluster is?78-up is the same (all electrical) Are you getting the complete harness?
How much is that going to cost you? If you do that and want to use that cluster, get one for a 77...Last time I checked a Painless system was cheaper...
yea it would cost me $400Quote from: Captkaos on June 19, 2008, 12:48:31 pmHow much is that going to cost you? If you do that and want to use that cluster, get one for a 77...Last time I checked a Painless system was cheaper...
That is for the American Auto?
That is a good deal if it is the complete harness.. Painless normally runs around $500...I think Autowire terminates them also..
Obviously if the American Autowire is $400 and the Painless is $540, it would be American Autowire.
He doesn't know what he is talking about if he thinks 76,77 and 78 are the same.76-77's are specific to those years ONLY. They have a volt meter and mechanical oil pressure gauges, the others are electric. 78-86 have complete electrical gauges. 87-91 have complete electrical gauges. but have different font and VSS for the ECM73-75 have AMP meter and mechanical oil pressure gauge.
The warning lights don't matter, They are in the speedo (which can be swapped out) and the tach, which should be able to swap out the lenses at the bottom. What kind of oil pressure gauge do you have? You can't use a 78 circuit with a 76-77 as you would end up swapping all the pins in the connector. What specifically does the "new" cluster have? What specifically does the "old" cluster have?
