fuel reg

im putting a carbed motor in an 88 chevy truck. im just going to run a regulater on the line and to the carb. what should i do with the other line? seeing as how there two of them run to the throttle body?

Yuck, you should really keep it efi. But a regulator with a return would be ideal rather than trying to choke off the pump.

i put a mallory regulator in my 89 s10 when i went from a fi 4banger to a carbed sbc. it had a port on it for the return line. got it through summit racing for about $80.

i have a regular regulator with inlet and outlet. can i just leave the return line open?

Without the return line hooked up you will burn up your elec. fuel pump.  Advance has a holley regulator you can buy for around $35 or so.

no. you will need one with a fuel line return provision.

Theoretically the pump will work harder until line pressure rises high enough to open the dump valve back in the tank. You'd be better off just running a $15 mechanical pump
