Anybody have any other projects working or waiting?

My next money pit is a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88.  It's about 4" wider than our trucks if I remember correctly...

too many projects.....

I'm driving my current truck project, a '90 SS truck with a 4/5 drop, weld billets, late model grille conversion, true dual exhaust with flows, a light touch of billet inside and getting fresh black paint with red/purple ghost flames in January when I go to Alaska for a few weeks.
My first project-once removed is my tried and true 84 silverado. Once slated to be my fishing truck, the SS now doubles as my cruiser and a super tow vehicle. I suuuure need to sell the 84. Somebody please buy it so I can have more stuff for my 90!!!!
The race car is motorless right now. The old 509 popped at the end of the season so now we're building the 635(rough dimensions) The Calles crank and Oliver rods just arrived Wednesday before we left work...man, it's almost a crime to get that stuff dirty!!!!
The bike is awaiting me to take the wheels down to the tire shop to give it a fresh set of Pilot sports. The old ones have worn out after some hard street driving and two track days, come to think of it I need two new peg slider's too.......
The boat awaits me patiently as always. I'm looking to bring it home in February for it's spring maintenence. Gear oil change, a new water pump impeller, a good douching downstairs in the cuddy, re-spool all 12 of my rods and reels(that crap is pricey!!!) and a nice buffing before it's back to the water for more fun when the cobia run in March!!!!!
I think that does it for now...... oh yea, my 92 Camaro also sits under it's cover waitin' for it's monthly 20 mile jaunt to the marina and back just to see the boat. I sure hope my son appreciates it when I give him the keys in 6 more years. He was born in 1992 just like the Camaro. Sure wish my Dad had thought that way......

1951 GMC panel van  original drive line going back stock.
Paint company logo on the side and use for advertisement.  My son started college last year so that kind of shot the project dollars in the head. BUT i did just finish my 87 Silverado everything new from the front bumper back, and new paint.  She's still my daily driver and hopefully will be for another 11 years.

Yeah, I got to put one of those K&N air filters in my Maxima.  That should take me weeks.

I have been working on my 85 k30 for quite some time now. The truck is factory k30 454/400/205. The 454 that was in it decided it would be funny, the crank broke just in front of the timing chain gear. The motor still ran great, but had a tendancy of shaking and overheating as it had no balancer, and no way of turning the accesories. I got a hairbrain idea of putting a ram jet 502 in it. So here it sits, tanks and fuel lines and wiring harness out of an 87' 350 tbi truck. It has a new radiator and all the cruise goodies and im trying to find a way to mount the power steering pump and a/c compressor to a ram jet 502. Being as have not purchased the 502 yet im starting to think i should just get a 454tbi out of an 89 or so with the a/c & everything, and get custom a/c lines built for the newer style a/c compressor on the later motor. Plus the newer motor has a serp belt setup and all the goodies, the only problem is finding one, COMPLETE w/computer and harness that has not been butched.

Anyways there are a 1000 routes i could take, but at the rate i'm goin its gonna be a few years before i can drive my beast.

A buddy of mine is also taking a 73 blazer, puttin 3/4 ton gear out of my old 79 silverado under it. he also recently purchased an 86 2wd that had been wrecked in the back, and has a hairbrain idea of putting the cab on the blazer frame somehow and then putting a custom 4ft flatbed on it. On top of that he also bought the 4" lift that was in my 79 and is going to put that under it, and lift the cab 2-4" so the 2wd cab with the small hump will clear the transfer. Sounds like a roll-over lookin for a place to happen, but hey, if he does it right it might actually be pretty cool.

this spring i may sell my newly restored 85k10 and start workin on my 77 k10, which im gonna make a 74 by using a 74 cab and grill. It also has a 4in lift and im gonnna add on 35'' tires. the only problem is that the 74 cab is 2wd and im puttin it on a 4x4 chassis, if it ever gets inspected they may not like that! OR- im gonna put this 74 cab on a 86 c10 frame, upgrade the suspension, build up a 400 sbc i have, and make it a pro-street truck so its street legal and i can beat those cars with fart pipes!   I got big plans on a low budget!
I may just buy a 70' chevelle 396 ss already restored, it would be quicker and easier!

Is the block okay on the 454?  Why not have it built into a 496?  You would spend a lot less than on a crate 502.  You need a new crankshaft anyway...:evil

As with probably everyone else here, I have other junk which take money away from the '79.  I have a '66 C-10 stepside, which I bought just ovre a year ago.  It has the stock straight 6 with a three speed.  Of course, I want a small block in it, but I bought this truck because it ran decntly enough to drive while i do other mods, so I can't justify it yet.  I plan to drop it down and paint it first.  That would include P/S and disc brakes with the drop.

I have a '74 CJ-5 with an original 304 V-8.  It needs a new suspension.  It has an old 2 or 2.5" lift, which appear to be old school.  Hard as heck.  I want a 4" spring lift, most likely Skyjacker.  I also want a 4 speed for it.

My most expensive project is our RV.  That takes enough money away from my toys!!!:rolleyes

Like ya said i have big plans on a small budget so the 502 idea went out the window for now. I scored a complete 454 out of a wrecked 89' k3500, brackets, pump, compressor and all, and will be doing the 454 TBI conversion instead of the 502. The 454 i scored knocks but thats fine by me, ill just get a crank and do a quick build on the motor, and whip it into my truck. Like it was said, the 496 would have been a good route, better than the 502, but a stock 454 TBI will do fine because my truck has 4.56's, and really, you can only get so much traction. And besides that, it will be a daily driver.  Hopefully my boss will get the motor out sometime soon so i can start to build come tax return time. Then i'm gonna go cruise on a friday night an whip every rice rocket i find. HA!:D :lol

2 86 k5 military Blazers are being practically given to me. It's not definate yet but if they come my way I'm going to keep one of them with the Army Camo paint and probably plop a snotty BB in it in place of the 6.2L . I'll have to check them out but I think it'll be pretty cool. I've een told the Bodies are immaculate. Imagine that phenomenon. :rollin

Those military rigs are very well maintained.  They wash them every time they get dirty, so it keeps the rust down.  They have a wierd 24 volt electrical system that you will have to modify.  I'd take one of those too.  I think the camo is cool!
