Hey bruce good sense of humor you have
. I learned something from you though, I didnt realize 700r4 torque convertors only used bolts and th350 used nuts and bolts.

where the nuts were the left a mark whee they were.I think they may have have clips over the bracket but cant find and 3/8 ones so maybe they just bolt on , thats quite an operation tryin to get washers and nutd in the smakk spaace and bot them up , would be easier if they had bolks to screw into gonna take a while but what ya got to do ya got to do hahaill freig with them today iLl load them down with locktight..
Bruce
ps got pics of the lmps on the th350 should have them on today ..sure wold like o know what their purpose was..

I couldn't understand a lot of what you posted, but I don't see a TH400 in any of the pics. I do see a 700R4 and a TH350 though...

The 3rd picture that you posted labeled " th350lump other side.jpg" isn't a TH350, it is a 700R4.

I wonder , did hey put 700r4's in trucks with 6 cylinders ,My other 700r4s dont hve lumps and have a 4 pin connector on one side , the one you think may be a 700r4 has same pan on it as a th350 I dont know just want to get one workin ,Both had different looking splines on them the blue th350 has splines right to the end and the lumpy one has a tit on th e end that goes into the TConvertor..

Generally speaking 700R4's were available behind 6 cylinders. TH350's with a 4 pin connector on it is a TH350C.
The transmissions you have pictured cannot have the same pan as a TH350, the 700R4 is square where a TH350 is square with a corner cut off on the passenger side.

Yea it must be a 350c the 4 pin connector is just a half has 2 connectors and only uses one that must be what it is haha I dont know fer sure what it is but it fits .And the wire is connected , I wonder when they started useing them , Its bigger than the reg 350 too .main body is a bit longer but not as long as the 700 r4 .I only found one torque converter that was different and it was alot narrower easy to notice and have to use a bolt and nut on the olt holes whereas the 700r4s have a bolt welded onto it. I have the narrow one which i figure was on the reg th350 and I have another one that has the seams just opposite of the 700r4s high, low, etc so that one must be for the 6 cyl one thats the one I put on it anyway .it worked on the other motor should work on this one .
The other 350 I took out was workin fine till I put 1/2 qt of Lucas engine fixer uperor sompthin like that , the oil turned brown so I pulled it till I can check it out .and stuck an old 010 in till i find out whats wrong with it , dont think it blew a head gasket or somphin but ya never know.Didnt bubble or sure wasnt white like it had wter in it .Didnt want to get stuck somewhere over heated eh so when i get this one , goin Ill yank the heads off the other one .. had 261s and i got a set of 624s Ill put on it. If I can get mad enough at it Ill put a cam in it , needless to say Im not a mechanic but Im learnin fast haha Actually its fun ,especially when sompthin works , and you will prob see me on here again haha Later Bruce

well finally got the 010 in and running , not to put new trannie lines and brake lines on it .have to get ready for saftey check , up here ya have to have all brake lines steel others can be copper All lines myst be clamped no lss than 3ft. , cant have any holes in body , frame or floor also any holes in upper or lower control arms have to be replaced if theres a pinhole .Same for the box , no holes , S o Ill have to go all over it befor I tke it for a sicker .Pre 1987 dont need Cats. unless they are computerised..Most of the stuff is up to the mechanic So I went to talk to him.Not worried about the holed it will b painted by then ,...Bruce
